The Twonky Manager is a media server that can share media, video, image, and music files across your wireless network from your computer to other devices like your Xbox360, Logitech Revue, or a wi-fi connected digital picture frame. You can access your personal and online content without saving it to a memory card or even connecting a cable. As long as your devices are DLNA certified, you can access your Twonky server where the content is stored.
Once I installed the Twonky Manager on my PC it immediately detected my general media folders. The Twonky Manager is available to PC computers which includes Twonky server and TwonkyBeam for $19.99. TwonkyBeam is a free add-on for Internet Explorer or Firefox that lets you stream music, videos or photos from countless websites to your networked devices. Create a playlist, stream an entire page of media or just right-click a file to beam it right away.
I was not able to get TwonkyBeam to work with my version of Firefox, which is the most recent version, but I was able to get it to work with the most recent version of IE.
I found that Twonky was great when wanting to display a slideshow on your TV while entertaining guests or having family or friends over. You can show off the last vacation, childhood pictures during a birthday party, or just use your internet connected TV as an oversized picture frame.
