Time Saving Tips

If you are like me, everyday doesn’t have enough hours in it to get everything you need and want to get done. The kids, family, hobbies, work, and life seem to be all jumbled up. Sometimes I feel like I have too much on my plate. When I feel this way, I just need to regroup, think my days through, and make a game plan to conserve the spare time that I do have.

I have found a few tips that have helped my day become more productive. Getting more than one task done at the same time is my usual everyday goal. In my spare time, I relax, take naps, and spend it with my family.

Take Showers At Night

Taking your shower at night helps relax your body for a great nights sleep. If you wash your hair daily, you can let your hair air dry at night saving the time it takes to dry it in the morning. You will be saving time, electricity, and your hair will look healthier.

Slow Cooker Meals

Nightly dinner preparation can take up precious time that you could be spending with your family. By preparing your meals in your slow-cooker in the morning, dinner will be ready when your kids get home from school, or when you get off of work. That 30 minutes to an hour can be used to help your kids with homework or catching up with your husband about the day.

Listen to Audio Books

If you find that you never have time to read your favorite book, purchase the audio version. When you are in the car or cleaning the house, listen to your audio book. This way you can get 2 things done at once.

Meal Planning

Creating a meal plan is a great way to save time each night. Instead of deciding what to cook for dinner each night, create a weekly menu once a week. Use your weekly menu plan to create your shopping list. Then when you go grocery shopping you know exactly what to buy. When it is time to cook, you already have all of the ingredients.

Make Lists

There are many desktop and mobile apps that help you keep lists. Many of they have syncing abilities so no matter what device you are using, you can keep up with your lists. Use alarms and alerts to remind you when tasks need to be completed. Remember to mark off your tasks when you are done and. You can also use the old school lists to keep track of what needs to be done and keep you focused. I use a notepad at work and mark my completed tasks with a highlighter. I don’t throw my lists away. I keep then just in case I need to refer back to them.

These are some great tips Jessica! I especially like the slow cooker idea. I love my slow cooker. :) A rice cooker can be good too. In roughly 45 minutes you can have a great rice meal for the whole family.
