Supporting Fellow Bloggers with Triberr

A few days ago I received a DM from a fellow Texas blogger asking me to accept his invitation to a site called Triberr. I hesitated but eventually accepted his invitation. I joined his “tribe” not really understanding what I was doing. Then I went about my blogger business. The next day when I published a post on my blog I noticed that others were tweeting for me also. I thanked them in a tweet as I normally do when others retweet my tweets.

Then I was told that the retweets were coming from Triberr. I thought that was pretty cool. I have actually attempted to do something similar to this previously with other bloggers as a support system. We set up each other’s feeds to tweet for them when they published a post on their blog. We did it out of support for each other.

So after I understood what Triberr was, I wanted to create my own tribes. After you sign up with an account you are already given 3 tribes with random barbaric names. You can easily change the names. So that is just what I did, I changed the names of the tribes to more conventional names. Then I tried to invite others. The issue I began to run into was that the others that I wanted to invite were already part of other tribes. The only way around adding someone to your tribe that is already a member of another tribe is to inbreed. However you cannot allow inbreeding into your tribe unless you recruit 3 people who have never used Triberr before. This is where I had a problem. I am very selective on the tribes that I participate in. I want to belong to tribes that write content similar to my own. My topics are technology and women, not necessarily moms and giveaways. Unfortunately most of the bloggers I know write about being mommy and giveaways.

I have created a tribe called The Geek Squad for women and technology. Now I need help from my readers, if you are not a part of Triberr and write on these topics, leave your twitter name in a comment and I will invite you. If you are already a member and write blog posts on those topics, you can leave your information also and I will invite you as soon as I get 3 people signed up.

I’m not sure I fit your profile either, I have a personal blog and am a girl but I think you’re going to find you’ve got quite a specialised niche there! Feel free to check it out though and if you think it would work let me know. It’s good to know about these things anyway.
