Everyone needs to take a break and relax, but vacations can become pricy. Having local destinations and activities brings relaxation and saves money from taking an entire trip to an out-of-town vacation.
I have come to appreciate our warm Gulf waters and beaches of Southeast Texas after visiting several coastal California cities. I have also found that we have just as much to do locally and don’t have to travel far to fun activities. Last month my husband and I were invited to take a day cruise in the Galveston Bay by Star Fleet Yachts. We chose to take advantage of the dinner and wine cruise that lasted an hour while we cruised along the bay and enjoyed the warm summer evening in Kemah TX.
From Beaumont, Kemah is only about a 45 minute drive with lots to do on the board walk. I had heard about the day cruises before and was pleasantly surprised when I was contacted by Star Fleet.
I first thought I was lost finding the dock, but realized we had not even passed it. Thanks to the coordinators of the cruise,, they held the boat until we boarded. I would have been so mad at myself if the boat took off without me. The boat was large and had several tables set up. Each guests name was on name cards at the seats of the tables.
Once the cruise started, we were educated on different wines we were served. We had a wine with out salad, dinner and a Moscato with out desert. I am not much of a wine drinker but LOVE Moscato, needless to say that was my favorite wine. Dinner was served buffet style while live guitar music played in the background. The music was a very nice touch. Also while we rode through the various areas of the Galveston Bay, each place was explained to us so we could understand the dynamics and make up of the area. It was fun to ride past the boardwalk while all the visitors waved at us on the yacht.
After dinner my husband and I went to the front of the boat where you could be outside and take in the beauty of the Galveston Bay waters surrounding us. It was peaceful and romantic.
I am glad we had the chance to experience the dinner and wine cruise thanks to Star Fleet Yachts. There are several other cruises to choose from including a romantic dinner cruise, murder mystery dinners, and you can even rent the cruise for a special occasion.
I highly recommend taking a dinner cruise if you are visiting or even a local to the Southeast Texas area.

There are still areas recovering from the past few hurricanes, but for the most part we are thriving strong.
