My New Co-Blogging Venture

I set out on the blogging journey over a year ago and along the way I have made some true long distance relationships. Through blog commenting, Facebooking, and tweeting, I have come across others who have more in common with me than many of those that I know in real life. I consider people as real friends. They are who I turn to when I am happy, upset, or have something to share.

One connection stood out last year in late October. As I searched out other bloggers like me to connect with and comment on their blogs I came across a new blog called The Cubicle Chick. I read a couple posts and and commented. Like most good bloggers. She commented back. That lead to exchanging comments back in forth which later lead to emails. We had more life stories in common than we actually wrote about on our blog. My new blogging friend was Danyelle.

Danyelle and I were roomies for the Blogging While Brown conference in Washington DC in June. When we finally met, we felt like we were lifelong friends. During the last year we tossed around different business ideas. But we had one other thing in common. We both had very active online and off line lives and could never find the time to follow through with the great ventures.

Danyelle and I recently decided to pair up to create a traveling series called Traveling Chicks. Our first destination was Chicago. You may have seen some of my posts about our trip. While in Chicago we had time to devote to one another and create a new idea. Every time I would think something, Danyelle would say it. I would tell her jokingly “Get out of my head!.” We were so different, yet so much alike. So that became our new project. We instantly sat down to purchase a domain name that described us. We found The Blogging Chicks.

I sat down and set up the new blog called The Blogging Chicks this week and Danyelle has been busy at posting away on it as I tweak the site. The Blogging Chicks show how to total different people have so much in common and where we share our travels together. We will be writing about our opinions on common topics. We may have the same outlook and on the other hand, we may disagree completely. I suggest you come follow what we are up to and while you are there enter to win a coffee mug we picked up from the Oprah store while we were in Chicago.

The Blogging Chicks complete our online presence for now. Hopefully we don’t start much more for now.

I’m really excited about reading you and Danyelle’s traveling adventures. I have found that the majority of people that I consider close friends and like family I have found online. Some people try to discredit online friendships, but they are more real to me than the people I see face-to-face on a daily basis. I seriously have a long lost sister in Kat. We are much like how you and Danyelle are.

I look forward to keeping up with your new blog.

    Take care,
