Procter & Gamble has partnered with their grocery retail partners to provide shoppers with the opportunity to understand their personal impact on the planet better with a new iPhone, iPad or Droid enabled app. The new app is called My Carbon Footprint and is interactive, social media friendly and gauges ones carbon footprint. It is powered by P&G’s Future Friendly initiative. The app will be available in app stored on April 22.
App users will be able to generate their personal planet based on their responses to multiple choice questions. After that there is a question a day which helps enhance or reduce the quality of their ecosystem. They will also receive tips to help them make more eco-friendly choices. The tips are able to be shared on users Facebook walls.
Consumers can sign up now to receive a reminder for the Earth Day launch date by simply scanning a QR code printed on point-of-sale materials at any of 10,000 participating stores, or going to www.findyourfootprint.com or searching the iTunes store or Android market.

I’ve always wondered how much more energy we are using these days with everything going electronic. I’ve go my phone, computer, tv, playstation, on and on with the electonics plugged in and using juice on a daily basis.
Probably not much compared to a major polluting car though.
