Don't Let Your Child Become A Lindsay Lohan

Our teenagers are exposed to all too much these days at an entirely young age. Even worse, they see celebrities in the spot light act a pure fool and still be popular. Lindsay Lohan has pulled all the stunts. She is no stranger to the night scene, drugs, alcohol, and thinking she can do whatever she wants. How do you protect our children from following what those in the spotlight are doing?

Lindsey LohanI would hope that structure and communication play a huge role in how our children turn out. But, you never know. Kids from some of the best households still stray away into the world of the unknown. Parenting our kids and showing them that Lindsay Lohan is exactly the opposite of what they want to become. Plastic surgery after plastic surgery has damaged this once beautiful girls innocence. Alcohol and drugs also bring the look of an aging young adult. Going out night after night can wear on your body and prevent you from being a productive citizen.

My hopes is that Lindsay Lohan will get the help she needs and sticks to it. She needs a purpose and something she can dedicate her life to. It is not all about the next party. Hopefully, Lindsay will straighten up and show her little sister Lilo that the life she is leading is not a glamorous one. By doing this, Lindsay will not only be showing her sister a great example, she will also be showing all the girls that look up to her a great example.

What would you do if your teen/ young adult went astray? What if they were caught up in the night life? How would you handle it?

Lindsay Lohan is a beautiful and talented person. Unfortunately, addiction to drugs alcohol is nothing but a downward spiral no matter who you are. Being an addict means that Lindsay only cares about her next drink or drug and not about what kind of role model she is to other young impressionable teens. Lindsay will have to hit her own personal bottom or come to some grand realization and insight into her own self to be able to change.

I remember reading an interview with Debbie Gibson (does anyone remember her?) and she commented on how different things are nowadays. When she was a teenager, though she was famous and a grammy winner, the paparazzi and the media pretty much left her alone. She never had cameras shoved in her face or cars chasing her down waiting for her to make a mistake. She observed that young stars are under much more scrutiny at a younger age than when she first became famous. She was thankful that she is not a young person now,so that all of her mistakes and trangressions could be preserved forever and rehashed in the tabloids.

I know I would not like to be a teen or an adult in the lime light. But the is not a teen anymore, She is a young adult now and she knows others are watching her. Why would you do things like use drugs in public and other things. Don’t she know young girls looked up to her?

I agree ! This is so heartbreaking and sad. Normal childhoods are sold to make big bucks and then when they get older and get their trust money, they go crazy, indulging in all sorts of horrible, risky behavior. That girl is going to wake up one day and be 50 and broke ( if she lives that long ) and wonder what went wrong. Her whole family is a mess so who is she supposed to look up to ?

All parents can do is try to be the best examples they can for their kids to look up to and steer their kids in more wholesome directions in their worship of celebrity and pray they get over it soon !!!
