Each Wednesday Tevin has to dress up in his spify NJROTC uniform. As his mom, I think he looks like one hell of a young man. Then again what else am I supposed to think he looks like? Dressing in the required attire is a grade for the class. So every Wednesday Tevin has the ruler out to measure where his assorted pins should be placed.
Along with the responsibility of measuring exactly where your pins should be inserted in your shirt, Tevin is responsible for shining his shoes. I don’t know about you, but I have never shined a pair of shoes. My husband who is a Navy Veteran and he still provided no help.
As I walked to Tevin about shining his shoes he proudly told me that he had been shining his shoes by putting oil on them. I chuckled a little, then he told me that he has to reapply the oil every class period. This time I burst out laughing. I am absolutely sure this is not the correct way to shine shoes. I am also pretty positive that if Tevin’s NJROTC teacher were to catch wind of how Tevin shines his shoes, he would not be too enthused and probably would issue some sort of punishment.
My plan of action when Tevin gets home from school today is to give him the task of looking up how to shine NJROTC shoes on YouTube. I’m sure he will find the information there.
