How I Started Making Money With Google Adsense

We are all online to make money. We try something, see it works, and move on to something else if it does not. There are tons of online marketing articles out there. Sometimes you have to question the authenticity of each article. So I wanted to write something for my readers to tell them my success.

If anyone knows me from the beginning, they would know that I did not start out blogging to make money. I started blogging to share. Then I found that I could actually make money doing this. One of the first ad networks bloggers encounter is Google Adsense. Honestly, in the beginning I made pretty much no money from the ads and removed them from my site.

I added a leader board back to my site a few months ago and was still making pretty much no money at all. Then I decided to install a WordPress plugin to insert ads into my posts. The plugin is named Ad Injection.

google adsense wordpress plugin

Ad Injection lets you add any ad code into your posts. You can download the plugin from WordPress Extend. There are many options when using this plugin. I decided to add small 468×60 Google Adsense ads to all my blog posts over 2 days old. Then I am not annoying my everyday readers but still making money off my traffic and those who are interested in the ads. I have set up Ad Injection to place no more than 2 ads in each post in random places. Also I specified not to have the ads at the top or at the bottom of any of the posts. I still have the leader board up underneath my navigation bar.

With Ad Injection you can also specify if you want ads injected into certain categories, tags, and on pages.

Using this plugin along with SEO practices I have increased my Google Adsense earnings from 4 cents to almost enough to cash out in the last 45 days. I say that is success. Until I find another ad network that I can earn more cash on, I will continue to use Google Adsense and the Ad Injection plugin.

I would love to know if you have been successful with Google Adsense and what you did to become successful. Inquiring minds want to know.

I just read through the details and FAQ of the ad injection plugin it sounds amazing! I’m going to install and test it out next week. It’s taken me many months to get $46.00 in my Adsense account, it would be nice to speed things along :)

  2. Thanks Jess! I just installed this plug in and did what you advised :) I have only cashed out one time on Google Adsense and should be getting another check from them in April. So hopefully I will make more now and cash out every month :) Thanks!

I installed Why Do Work Adsense plugin and it helped for sure. I will have to test this one too though because with the plugin I installed and setup – I used it for all types of ads not just adsense, it increased earnings but not that fast.

Cool plugin. I will definitely check it out. I have never cashed out from Adsense cause it moves sooooo slow. However, I have not really taken the type to place many ads. I added a few more recently and I do notice a difference. I do not use them all over, but I put some in the posts and pages that get the most traffic. I do a lost of selling my own ads, and I am on the Lifetime Affil so I don’t want to completely cover my blog in ads! :)

I LOVE adsense and it has been one of my top ways to monetize on my site. I started out making a few cents and took me about 8 months to reach the first $100. Now I’m making anywhere from $3 to $10/day. I only had it at the end of each individual post between where the text ends and the comment section. I also had it in my email newsletter. This past week I got started with an ad network and had to put in their codes, but could put my adsense as a default when I don’t have any ad networks ads to show. I’m curious to see if that increases my adsense or not.

The plugin I use is called Advertising Management (I think anyways). So far so good. They do pay and a cheque comes to me in Canadian dollars so I can just put it right in the bank machine. So much easier than US cheques!
