The Energizer Inductive is another great gift for the holidays and you have a chance to win one too.
The Energizer Inductive charger is a wireless charging station and a Qi Sleeve for the iPhone® 3GS/3G and a one-time replacement Qi Door for the BlackBerry® Curve™ 8900, so consumers can enjoy the convenience of Qi right away. Inductive is when one device is charged just by touching another device. This is new technology and soon to be the norm for the future.
Suggested retail price is $89. The removable Qi sleeve for the iPhone® 3GS/3G and the Qi door for the BlackBerry® Curve™ 8900 will be sold separately for $34.99 each.
I unboxed and hooked the Energizer Inductive Charger and Qi Sleeve for my iPhone as soon as I received it. I am bad about charging my iPhone 3GS. In fact my phone is usually dead. I put the sleeve on my iphone and laid it on the pad. It started charging like expected.
I am not sure if it is true, but this is what I have noticed. My iPhone holds a charge longer with the Qi Sleeve on. Not sure if it is just because I finally charge my phone up all day or not. But my iPhone held a charge for the entire day. That don’t usually happen.
The only downfall I noticed it that if I have the sleeve on and need to leave, to charge my phone from my car charger I need to remove the sleeve. Also when my phone was dead, all the way dead, I could not talk on it while it was on the charger, unless I was sitting next to it and had my iPhone on speaker. With a wired charger you can still talk on the phone.
Energizer is having a sweeps to win an Inductive Charger from now until Dec. 15 on the Energizer Facebook page. There will be ten winners, but you will need to own one of the compatible phones in order to enter. You can also enter the 12 Days of Giveaways by Energizer on Twitter. Watch for their daily tweet to enter to win.
*Disclosure: I was provided with one Energizer Inductive Charger and an iPhone Qi Sleeve for review.

For one thing, each device needs a special sleeve before it can work with the pad. So in addition to buying the pad (not cheap) you also have to buy a sleeve for each of your devices (cheaper than the pad, but it adds up.) At the time of this writing, the pad is about $70 and this sleeve for the iPhone is about $30. So just to charge your iPhone would cost you $100 when you already have a wall charger for it and third-party USB cables are about $1.
I have been seriously considering getting a qi charger. A couple I have seen were pretty bulky though. Is the Energizer sleeve heavy at all or is it more like a standard protector? Thanks.

The case is a bit bigger than a normal iPhone case. It is thinker all the way around, but not uncomfortable.
