Blogging While Brown- I Am Speaking

Last year I blogged about attending my very first conference named Blogging While Brown. The conference was in DC and I had a blast. Since then I have attended many more conferences but none have given me the deep down feeling of community like Blogging While Brown did. I learned a lot, met great people, and even visited the White House to hear officials talk to us about new media vs old media.

Well a whole year later I am going again. This time I won’t just be a participant but I will also be a panelist along with Andrea from Smart Money Chicks and Danyelle from The Cubicle Chick. I will be on a panel talking dubbed “From a Side Hustle to a Career“. We all utilize different skills and resources to create a decent online income for ourselves. A year and a half ago I began to monetize my online activities. Since then I have been able to make as much money as I did working outside my home. I get lots of emails and tweets each day with people asking for tips and tricks. Even though I do work outside my home, I have the security to know that if that job ever goes anywhere, I am still secure.

I feel being on this panel will answer a lot of people’s questions about how to make an online income that they will be happy with. Believe me, this online stuff is not a get rich over night fad. You have to dedicate yourself, educate yourself and be patient. It is a lot of hard work.

This year the Blogging While Conference will be held in Los Angeles and I will be rooming with Yolanda from Notorious Spinks. I think we may still be looking for another roomie or two.
