Read this carefully. Some Twitter accounts are filtered from search results. The tweets are missing or just not showing up in search results. My account was one of them. Twitter explains this as the Twitter accounts that are filtered are deemed not valuable, spam, or too new.
This is how I found out that my Twitter account was blocked from search results. Over 2 years ago when I started using Twitter, I tried to participate in a Twitter party. Nobody would acknowledge me. I thought they were all stuck up and decided then, never to attend another Twitter party. Next, when I searched things I never saw them, I just thought you did not see your own tweets when you searched. I had heard of others being blocked from Twitter search, but did not think I was effected. But it always remained in the back of my mind.
During Blogalicious, one of my room mates did a road trip from North Carolina to Miami Beach. Icalled her and told her that I thought she would be tweeting all the way. She told me she had been Tweeting with the hashtag. I told her I did not see any of her tweets in the hashtag when I searched it. And then, it dawned on me. I asked her to search me. She saw nothing. I realized at that point that we were both blocked from Twitter search.
I did some research to make sure. I checked my Twitter URL with Twitter search. Make sure if you are checking your username to replace my user name jess_benton with your own. If when you search from:yourusername and nothing shows up, you too are blocked. If you search and you can see your tweets, you know you are not blocked and everything is all good.
If you saw none of your tweets when you searched, and you want to be searchable, you need to file a support ticket with Twitter. I filed a ticket and in less than 24 hrs Twitter responded. The first response Twitter just told me why they block people. I had to reply to that email. Then a few hours later Twitter responded again telling my my user settings were now fixed and I should show up in search results.

Unfortunately, I’m not showing up in search *frowns* It’s good to know that folks weren’t just ignoring me at the Twitter parties, lol! I’m trying to submit a ticket but I keep getting an error message that tells me to try again later. I’ll keep trying and hopefully this can be resolved soon! Thanks for the info, Jessica!

You are right, If your tweets are protected you will not see them in search either.

The same exact thing happened to me a few months ago. Luckily after contacting them, they did get it fixed pretty quickly. I though I was crazy. LOL!
